The Artful Hare

I have lived in The New Forest since I was born, I grew up reading books about dragons, Celtic myths and fantasy stories. I have always been inspired by the natural world and the stories and mysteries of the woodlands and coasts of The British Isles.
In 2016 I began studying illustration at Southampton School of Art and Design after graduation I began my own little company 'The Artful Hare' painting animals and flowers.
In 2022 I joined a jewellery making course and began learning to become a silversmith which is where I fell in love with etching onto metals, I love the combination of being able to mix my illustrations with my metal work to create one of a kind unique pieces of art.

The journey from plate to print
Each plate creates a limited amount of prints, which are all signed and numbered. After the printing process the plate is cleaned and sealed to stop any discolouration, I then take the plates and prints to 'Winchester Framers' where they beautifully mount and frame them.
Each plate and print has a little page about the folklore and stories surrounding the creature or plant.
